### Golden Record Customization: Country-Specific Data Source Prioritization already available

*2024-11-07*

In CDQ’s Business Partner Lookup service, Golden Record creation has traditionally followed predefined rules for data source prioritization. Now, however, customers have the flexibility to override these standard settings on a country-by-country basis, enabling them to tailor the Golden Record generation process to specific needs. This capability is especially valuable for incorporating local data sources or adhering to country-specific requirements.
With this new feature, customers can customize the prioritization of data sources for each country. If no country-specific settings are defined, the system defaults to CDQ's standard rules.

This enhancement allows users to specify distinct primary, secondary, and "other" data sources tailored to country-specific requirements.

A comprehensive tutorial on configuring data source prioritization for Golden Record creation will be available on the [Developer Portal](https://developer.cdq.com/documentation/tutorials/lookup/l-how-to-customize-gr-ds-prioritization/) in the coming days.

**Launching the New Business Partner Update Browser APP**

The latest update also introduces a revamped version of the Business Partner Update Browser APP. Filtering options include:

- **summaryClassification**: Filters Business Partners based on the highest classification level among all concepts.`
- **conceptClassification**: Focuses on the classification of individual business partner concepts (e.g., name, street, legal form).

Filtration by tag and conceptClassification works in pairs and allows for precise filtering. For example, you can isolate Business Partners where the LOCAL_NAME was MODIFIED and classified as MAJOR. Additional filters include country, provenance, and external IDs. Specifying the data source in your request can also enhance the speed of responses.

**Performance Note**: Utilizing the feature to check the total number of updates (featuresOn NUMBER_OF_TOTAL) can provide comprehensive data but may impact response times.

The "CDQ AML Guard Active Monitoring" release enhances AML compliance by providing near-real-time synchronization and comprehensive change review and seamless integration of compliance checks for efficient business partner screening. It monitors the records on your Data Mirror against over 1,000 global sanction lists, watchlists, and PEP lists and provides an update logging to promptly detect compliance-relevant changes.

**Summary**

This release introduces a the new "AML Monitoring", a new product feature aimed at enhancing how customers manage Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance. The "CDQ AML Guard Active Monitoring" feature provides users with improved oversight and control, ensuring that business partners are screened accurately and efficiently within their AML-Screening processes. This functionality integrates into your existing data infrastructure via the CDQ Data Mirror, offering near-real-time synchronization and comprehensive change review of your business partners. In addition, all changes on international compliance lists are covered.

One of the key outputs of this feature is the "AML-Log", which provides users with daily insights of compliance-relevant changes on their Data Mirror. This log helps users to monitor and address any potential compliance issues, ensuring that your organization remains secure and compliant with the latest regulations.

The "CDQ AML Guard Active Monitoring" release enhances AML compliance by providing real-time synchronization and comprehensive change review. It integrates seamlessly into your existing data infrastructures, ensuring accurate and efficient screening of business partners and processes: Master Data Changes performed by the Master Data departments are detected, screened and the results can be automatically routed to the compliance department or any other responsible part of your organization. The release includes an "AML-Guard Monitoring" that monitors records on your Data Mirror and checks them against over 1,000 sanction lists, watchlists, and PEP lists with a worldwide scope as no-touch operation: Every change on your Data Mirror and any change on your choice of lists to be checked is reviewed. Updates are automatically logged, aiding you with a prompt detection of compliance-relevant changes within your business partner base.

**New Features**

- **Passive Monitoring:** The complete portfolio is screened at defined intervals e.g. every 4 weeks to 6 months. Sub-portfolios may be screened more frequently by your systems based on a risk-based approach. This can be accomplished using "Batch Mode" or "Transactional Mode".
- **Active Monitoring:** In contrast to Passive Monitoring, Active Monitoring registers business partners for monitoring and listens for changes on both the sanction and watchlists as well as new and changed records in the business partner portfolio. This ensures that only records with changes either your side or within the compliance-relevant lists are updated, resulting in efficiency gains.

**Key Features**

- **Real-time Synchronization:** Establishes a live connection between data sources, continuously synchronizing changes made to both AML-Screening lists and Business Partner records. This ensures instant evaluation of corresponding entries upon any update.
- **Comprehensive Change Review:** Thoroughly reviews any addition or modification to AML-Screening lists against Data Mirror entries, reducing the risk of overlooked discrepancies. This enables compliance teams to take corrective action promptly.
- **Background Check Triggers:** Automatically checks new or altered Business Partner records in the Data Mirror against configured sanction lists. This proactive approach helps keep compliance protocols up-to-date.

### New Model of Business Partner Updates (Version 5)

*2024-07-15*

We are excited to announce that the new model of Business Partner updates is now available for our customers. This updated version introduces significant improvements in the structure of responses, performance, and results filtration. The new features are designed to better meet customer needs, making it easier to consume and utilize updates.

**Summary:**

The latest model for Business Partner updates offers a unified and comprehensive update for each business partner, improves performance, and introduces advanced filtering options to streamline data consumption. Key changes include the provision of full business partner profiles in updates, enhanced classification tags, and the ability to generate historical updates on demand without quota consumption.

**Key Differences Between V4 and V5:**

- **Unified Update Structure:** In the previous version, changes were presented in separate property updates, requiring multiple updates to be browsed for a single business partner. The new version generates a single update with a full business partner profile, containing all relevant concepts from the reference data source. Changes are tagged with the UPDATE_PROPOSAL_INDICATOR to highlight updated elements.
- **Detailed Update Assessment:** Each concept within a business partner update now includes an Update Assessment field, providing information about provenance, tags, classification, and actions compared to the previous state in the customer's mirror (Before).
- **Latest Version Only by Default:** By default, the response includes only the latest version of a business partner from each reference data source, simplifying the update process. However, users can opt to fetch all updates for up to three months using the FETCH_HISTORICAL_UPDATES feature if needed.
- **Enhanced Filtration:** Business partner updates can be filtered by various parameters, including summary classification, concept classification, and specific tags used in update assessments. This helps in quickly identifying and receiving the required business partner updates.
- **On-Demand Seed Updates:** Customers can now generate seed updates on demand via a special endpoint, without affecting their quota.

For more details, refer to the [endpoint documentation](https://developer.cdq.com/reference-docs/data-exchange/V5/tag/Business-Partners/#tag/Business-Partners/paths/~1v5~1storages~1%7BstorageId%7D~1businesspartners~1updates/get).

### Deprecation of Data Storage Manager APP: Transition Guidelines

*2024-06-27*

The Data Storage Manager APP will be deprecated and removed from the list of CDQ APPs after June 30, 2024. This change may impact the usage of our other applications, as the creation of separate storages and uploading business partners will no longer be possible. For Linkages Matching, Duplicate Matching, and Sanction and Watchlist functionalities, users will need to utilize data sources from the Data Mirror instead of storages.

**Transitioning to Data Mirror for Duplicate Matching**

Steps to Run Duplicate Matching:

1. Access the Data Mirror Management APP:
#* Open the Data Mirror Management app.
2. Create a Data Source:
#* Provide a name for the new data source.
#* Select an existing mapping or create a new one.
3. Import Business Partners:
#* Import your business partners into the newly created data source.
4. Navigate to the Duplicate Matching APP:
#* Open the Duplicate Matching app.
5. Select Data Mirror Card:
#* Choose the Data Mirror card (this will soon be the only available option).
6. Select Your Data Source:
#* Pick the data source you created.
7. Initiate Duplicate Matching:
#* Start the Duplicate Matching process.

**Integration of DnB Storages into Data Mirror Management APP**

DnB Storages have been moved to the Data Mirror Management APP and are now available as a separate card within the application. All functions of the DnB Storage feature remain the same as in the previous APP.

By following these guidelines, you can smoothly transition your data management processes to the Data Mirror, ensuring continuity and efficiency in handling your business partners' data. For any further assistance, please refer to CSM team.

### Updates on Data Quality Rules

*2024-04-11*

In our latest data quality rules update, we're excited to unveil a series of enhancements and updates aimed at refining your experience with our data quality rules engine. Here's a concise overview of what's included:

- Indian GST Validation: Stay up-to-date with recent changes in Indian regions for GST validation, ensuring seamless compliance with updated state codes.
- Organization Registration Number (Sweden): We've bolstered our rules engine to identify missing organization registration numbers in Sweden, enhancing data quality checks.
- Albanian Tax Number Revision: Experience improved accuracy with revised identifier types and checks for Albanian tax numbers.
- French EU VAT Validation: Enable validation of French EU VATs for partners in specific regions, streamlining compliance processes.
- Pakistani NTN Alphanumeric Format: Adapt to the latest NTN format allowing alphanumeric characters.
- Unallowed Name Pattern Criticality Change: We've adjusted the criticality of unallowed name pattern checks to provide clearer insights into potential issues.
- Adjustments on Dummy Postal Code Identification: Benefit from refined detection of dummy postal codes in Colombia, Germany, and Egypt, ensuring accurate address validation.
- Kosovo Post Code Format Adjustment: Enjoy improved flexibility with post codes in Kosovo, now allowing for variations without mandatory whitespace.

These updates are designed to elevate your user experience and enhance the efficiency of your operations. Please see the details below. All new rules are in HYPERCARE status.

**[Identifier checks] Adapt latest changes of Indian regions for the GST validation**

The first two segments of the GST number refer to the state code, with each state being assigned a unique identifier.

- The combination of Daman and Diu, previously designated by the state code 25, has been amalgamated with Dadra & Naga Haveli to now solely use the code 26. This change has been also updated in SAP’s S4 table content.
- The state of Andhra Pradesh, formerly recognized by the code 28, will now utilize the code 37, rendering the previous code obsolete.
- New additions to the list of state codes include:
- Ladakh, with the state code being introduced as 38.
- Another category labeled "Other territory" has been assigned the state code 97.
- "Centre jurisdiction" receives the code 99.
For the transitional period, the state codes 25 and 28 will continue to be accepted. However, they will be flagged as outdated in specific data quality checks when associated with a GST number.
See Deprecated identifier found (GST number (India)) and Identifier format invalid (GST number (India))

**[Identifier checks] Organization Registration Number (Sweden)**

The data quality rules engine is capable now to identify missing organization registration numbers. The following rules have been added:

- Mandatory identifier not maintained (Sweden) (ERROR): A business partner in Sweden should have at least a European value added tax identifier (Sweden) or a Organization Registration Number (Sweden). If none of these two is available the record is considered as defective.
- Identifier missing (Organization Registration Number (Sweden)) (INFO): Each legal entity in Sweden should have a Organization Registration Number
Accordingly the following rule has been changed as default to just INFO: Identifier missing (European value added tax identifier (Sweden))

**[Identifier checks] Revise identifier types and check of the Albanian tax number**

The first character is a capital letter, indicating the decade the TIN was issued (e.g. "J" for 1990 - 1999, "K" for 2000 - 2009, etc.)
The current check missed the capital letter M for the years 2020 to 2029. This is fixed with this release.
See Identifier format invalid (Tax Registration Number (Albania))

**[Identifier checks] Support French EU VAT validation for partners located in Guadeloupe, Martinique and Reunion**

On customer request we now enable validation of French EU VATs that are hold by business partners located in Martinique, Guadeloupe or Reunion.
Please note that you have to map to the French EU VAT identifier. An example looks like this. Here we have the EU VAT maintained in the field STCEG. In case of the country FR, MQ, GP or RE the value from this field is considered as European Value Added Tax Identifier for France.
` { "sourceAttributes": [ "['STCEG']" ], "targetAttributes": [ "businessPartner.identifiers" ], "targetAttributeTypes": [ "EU_VAT_ID_FR" ], "countryScopes": [ "FR", "MQ", "GP", "RE" ] }`
See Identifier unknown (European value added tax identifier (Martinique)), Identifier unknown (European value added tax identifier (Reunion)), Identifier unknown (European value added tax identifier (Guadeloupe))

**[Identifier checks] Pakistan NTN numbers may have alphanumeric characters**

The NTN format now allows alpha-numeric digits. While all official documentation that we have talk about 7 + 1 (checkdigit) numeric digits, it is prooven that there are also NTNs with alphanumeric digits.
See: Identifier format invalid (Tax Identification Number (Pakistan))

**[Name Checks] Change criticality of unallowed name pattern rules**

The name pattern checks such as Unallowed pattern in name detected (DE) are now considered as WARNING by default (before: just INFO).
Example of an unallowed name pattern: DELETE CDQ AG or CDQ AG Do not use

**[Address checks] Adjustments on the dummy postal code identification for Colombia, Germany and Egypt**

We fixed some issues with the dummy postal code detection in Colombia, Germany and Egypt. For example

- 111111 is now considered as valid post code of Bogota (CO).
- 33333 as valid post code of Gütersloh (DE)
- 1111 as valid post code of Kairo (EG)
See: Dummy post code detected (DE), Dummy post code detected (CO), Dummy post code detected (EG)

**[Address checks] Allow for post codes in Kosovo without whitespaces**

The data quality rules engine now allows post codes in Kosovo without a mandatory whitespace after the first two digits.
See: Post code format invalid (Kosovo)

### New classification type: CRITICAL

*2024-04-09*

We are pleased to announce that we extended our classification types with the new one: CRITICAL. This classification will be applied in case of adding or changing Business Partner Status to INACTIVE, DISSOLVED, IN_LIQUIDATION, and INSOLVENCY or for detecting special keywords in the Business Partner Name.

List of rules:

- update classification rule 000014
- update classification rule 000015

### Enhanced Identifier Checks for Finland

*2024-03-19*

We are pleased to announce an update to our data quality rules engine that significantly extends and improves identifier checks for Finland. This update is an important part of our commitment to ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in business partner validation and data management. These modifications come into effect immediately and are detailed below:

**Conditional Rule Enhancement**
We have implemented a refined conditional rule for Finnish business partners, necessitating that each should have either a tax number or a VAT number documented. This improvement aims to strengthen compliance and accuracy in identifying business entities in Finland. Further information regarding this update can be found through the following link: Mandatory identifier not maintained (Finland)

**Missing Business Identity Code Identification**
Our rules engine can now effectively identify cases where a Finnish Business Identity Code is missing. This advancement allows for prompt detection and rectification of incomplete business partner profiles, ensuring that data integrity is maintained. Additional details on this improvement are available here: Identifier missing (Business identity code (Finland))

**Business Identity Code Validation**
Significantly, the Finnish Business Identity Code can now be verified directly against the Finnish business register. This feature enhances the reliability of the data by ensuring that the Business Identity Codes are accurate and up to date. For more information, please visit: Identifier unknown (Business identity code (Finland))

### New Batch Sanction Screening with Sanction & Watchlist Configurator

*2024-02-26*

We want to communicate that the New Sanction and Watchlist Screening is now available in both API and APP.

**What Changed**

One of the main challenges in Compliance Screening is the handling of false positives.
"False" in this sense means that a compliance hit has been found but a manual check reveals that the subject in perspective is not the same as the subject listed on one of the compliance lists.
Amongst others, this is caused by unavailability of international identification data for persons companies and vessels - together with the tendency of sanctioned subjects to try to avoid being found by variating their names or disguising behind new company names.
Another challenge is to process sanction hits from lists that are not relevant to a users business process.

**The Solution**

To get rid of False Positives and reduce manual workload spent on investigating on them we implemented new version of Sanction and Watchlist Screening:

**Main Advantages comparing to the old approach:**

- Avoid unnecessary work: only screen the sanction lists that are relevant to your business requirements.
- Batch screening is faster thanks to the new “reactive” approach.
- Be flexible: Maintain the range of lists to be screened in your company yourself.
- Risk Based Approach: Define different levels of screening by using multiple Compliance Configurations for different business partner groups.
- Sanction & Watchlist Configurator APP – where you can create, edit, and manage your configurations. You can use different configuration depending on your requirements.
- Inside the configuration you can define a threshold that will allow you to filter your screening results by relevance.
- The new Sanction and Watchlist Screening is available in First Time Right App.

**How It Works**

Analog to the Update Monitoring Configurator, a new **Sanction and Watchlist Configurator** is being introduced with this release.
It enables the selection of Sanction lists, Watchlists, and PEP lists to be screened as well the adjustment of the matching settings, such as a confidence level (**Matching threshold**).

**The matching threshold** - the minimum confidence level for screening. Screening hits below this level are not presented.
A default value for this threshold is 0,7 but it can be adjusted for every configuration to support different Layers of risk-based-approaches in compliance management.

**A selection of Lists** - Depending on a companies compliance requirements and supplier/trading partners locations as well as the companies risk appetite, different selections of compliance lists will be needed to support different compliance checks in different layers of background checks.
The Sanctions and the Watchlists are selected step-by-step via their type, their issuing authority, and the list name itself.

A selection of countries for PEP checks: **The PEP lists are selected by country only**.
The recommended setting is to screen PEPs from all countries if PEPs shall be screened, otherwise none.

In **Sanction & Watchlist Configurator App** after creating new empty configuration you can use one of 4 predefined configuration profiles (**QUICK, STANDARD, PEP, FULL**) as base for your configuration. These templates have been selected based on our customer projects expertise and are ready to be used. Adaption can be made at any time.

You can create as much configurations as you need that could be used for different purposes.

The chosen lists and settings are stored in a compliance configuration which is later stored in the customers **API-key** and which is the base for the screening API settings.

**Batch Sanction & Watchlist Screening with Configuration**

The same configurations are applied in the CDQ Cloud apps, the CDQ transactional APIs and in the CDQ Batch jobs ensuring consistency in screening resuls across all delivery methods. From now on you while starting Screening Job in Batch Sanction & Watchlist Screening App configuration need to be selected:

**Why It Matters**

This solution should fulfill the needs of Customers in completing company AML procedures.

Better matching, customizable configuration including threshold and much faster batch screening should make a positive impact on the Client experience using our Product.

### Update Monitoring extended with Business Partner Relations

*2024-02-16*

We are pleased to announce that our services provide updates about relationships between companies based on information from paid and free data sources.

Updates contain information about startnode (unique ID of the child in the relation), endnode (unique ID of the parent), relation type (branch/direct parent/global ultimate/ etc.), class (from which classification does the hierarchy come), startNodeDataSource (Id of the startNode data source), endNodeDataSource (Id of the startNode data source).

To receive updates it’s required to have an Augmentation Monitor turning on data sources from the list below for updates part of the augmentation configuration.

Relation updates can be monitored in the following data sources:

- DnB – provides full concepts (branch, direct, domestic, and global ultimate relationships)
- NZ.CR – information about Global Ultimate Relationship
- LEI (soon) - provides full concepts (branch, direct, domestic, and global ultimate relationships)
- CH.UIDR (soon)– information about the Domestic Branch Relationship
- FR.RC (soon) - information about the Domestic Branch Relationship
- NO.RBE (soon) - information about the Domestic Branch Relationship

**How to store relations?**

Customer storage (mirror) should have a special feature: RELATIONS. It’s possible to add this feature with [Initialize Storage relations endpoint](https://developer.cdq.com/reference-docs/data-exchange/V4/tag/Relations/#tag/Relations/paths/~1v4~1storages~1%7BstorageId%7D~1relations/post).

Once storage has this feature, BPs can be uploaded with relations via upsert BP endpoint

### User interface updated with new hierarchy of validation levels

*2024-02-16*

We are happy to announce that we have updated all validation-related apps (First Time Right, Data Clinic and Extended Single Data Quality Checks) with new validation levels that are now represented as a hierarchy (order of importance) of statuses: **OK < INFO < WARNING < UNKNOWN < ERROR**. From now on, they are visible in all aforementioned apps.
The hierarchy of statuses as well as other important related changes were introduced with the following release note: https://meta.cdq.com/Release_note/20230808.

### Custom violation message with custom criticality level

*2024-02-05*

We are pleased to announce the introduction of our new feature called "Custom Violation Message" that has been rolled out in the Data Validation Configurator application. Previously, users were able to adjust the criticality of rules, i.e. change a rule's criticality from **ERROR** to just **INFO** or **WARNING** level. From now on, they can conveniently adapt the criticality together with the violation message of the rule.
You can now do the following:

- change the violation message to any string less than 250 characters (information intended for the end user about a violated business rule like: "Format of this identifier is not correct"),
- view the default criticality level as well as the default violation message in the Data Validation Configurator.

Moreover, we slightly changed and adjusted the Data Validation Configurator interface so that every action can now be performed in a simpler and more intuitive manner (as shown in the attached picture).

### Regeneration of Business Partners in a smart way

*2024-01-25*

To reduce consumption of resources and quotas CDQ provides special automatic rules of reevaluation of the business partner in monitors with the execution type – trigger.

The Business Partner will be reevaluated automatically when:

**General rules:**

- Detected a new update from the reference data source
- A new BP was added
- Detected change in the BP done by the customer (adding, modifying, removing any concept)
- Change in the raw data, not mapped to the CDQ data model has no impact
- The monitor was turned off and turned on again
- Check if there was any trigger for the reevaluation of the BP = updates done by customers, updates from the ref data source, the configuration was changed, etc.

**Augmentation monitor rules:**

The new configuration was assigned to the monitor or the customer provided a change within the already assigned configuration. Both configurations are compared and the reevaluation is enabled only for those business partners for which the change is relevant

- Data source list was changed – reevaluation is performed based on the country scopes for the data source
- The curation part changed – change in the country scope causes trigger for BPs from this country. In case of global change, the monitoring is triggered for all business partners.
- The list of monitored data sources for updates was updated – the service creates linkages and finds updates

**Validation monitor rules:**

The new configuration was assigned to the monitor or the customer provided a change within the already assigned configuration. Both configurations are compared and the reevaluation is enabled only for those business partners for which the change is relevant:

- changes in general settings trigger the reevaluation for all bps
- changes in the settings for one country cause the trigger only for BPs from this country.
