# How to Fetch Business Partner Relations from CDQ.POOL

## Overview

This tutorial describes how to explore the organizational structure of a Business Partner available in the CDQ.POOL directly from the First Time Right application.

Business Partners often belong to larger corporate structures consisting of:

* Legal Entities (LE),
* Organizational Units (OU),
* Operational Entities (OE).

Instead of searching for each organization separately, users can retrieve the relevant organizational hierarchy with a single action. The **Fetch BP Relations** feature calls the Fetch Business Partner Relations endpoint and displays the returned hierarchy in a dedicated side panel, allowing users to explore related Business Partners together with their identifiers and address information without leaving the current search context.

Info
The displayed hierarchy depends on the type of the selected Business Partner. If the selected record is a Legal Entity (LE), the complete organizational hierarchy is displayed, including all related Organizational Units (OUs) and Operational Entities (OEs). If the selected record is an Operational Entity (OE), the hierarchy focuses on the selected Operational Entity, showing its parent hierarchy together with other Operational Entities related to the same parent.

**Learning Goals**

In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

* Search for a Business Partner in CDQ.POOL
* Fetch Business Partner relations directly from the CDQ.POOL search results
* Review the relations panel, including business partner types, addresses, and identifiers
* Navigate large hierarchies using expand/collapse and identifier tooltips

2. In the **Data Sources** field, select **CDQ.POOL**.
3. In the **Lookup** section, enable the `ACTIVATE_DATASOURCE_CDQ_POOL` feature under **Features On**.

1. In the action panel for the selected result, locate **Fetch BP Relations**.

Info
The **Fetch BP Relations** action is available only for Business Partners returned from CDQ.POOL. If no relations are found for the selected Business Partner, or if the request fails, the panel displays a "No relations found" message instead of the hierarchy. If you don't see the action, confirm the selected record's data source.

1. Click **Fetch Business Partners Relations**.
2. A right-side panel opens over the main view, with the Business Partner's name shown as the panel header. The main view remains visible in the background.

## Step 3: Read the Relations Hierarchy

The panel displays a hierarchical tree of the Business Partner's organizational structure, broken down into three node types:

| Type  | Description |
|  --- | --- |
| `LE`  | Legal Entity. |
| `OU`  | Organizational Unit. |
| `OE`  | Operational Entity. |

Each node in the tree shows:

- Business Partner name
- Business Partner type — `LE`, `OU`, or `OE`
- Address — thoroughfare (value and number), post code, locality, and country
- Identifiers (if available)

Identifiers are displayed as follows:

1. If a node has a single identifier, its value is displayed directly in the node.
2. If a node has multiple identifiers, only the first value is shown inline, followed by a counter — for example `9G4362W432 … (+1)`.
3. Click the **i** icon next to an identifier to open a tooltip listing the value and type of every identifier on that node.

Info
Click a node to expand or collapse its children. For nodes with many children, a `+X more - Click to expand` indicator appears instead of listing every child at once. Click it to reveal the remaining entries.
